The end of ISDN....

What is happening with the end of ISDN?

With the well documented phase out of the traditional Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and Public Switched Telephone Networks (PSTN) lines; SIP, Cloud and Hosted technology are taking over.  F One Technologies Ltd are spearheading these changes within the telecommunications sector.

BT has announced a target date of 2025 for the switch off of all ISDN and PSTN networks. Whilst 9 years may seem like the distant future, realistically, the migration process will need to begin now if this timescale is to be met and all customers are benefiting from the IP network by this time.

Will my business benefit from the switch over to SIP?

Yes! SIP is now a well-established technology and is the preferred solution for businesses of all sizes, in many ways outperforming ISDN.  Organisations that still use ISDN can switch comfortably and quickly to a SIP service, as numbers can be ported and retained and the whole service can be set up within weeks.  This is a key opportunity to also upgrade your hardware for little or no extra costs.

If you feel this switch will directly impact your business, please feel free to contact us to discuss your needs and how this switch over may affect you.
